I'm an amateur writer and a professional web/database programmer. I work as a webmaster and systems programmer at Western Oregon University. The site you're on now is my personal website, and is not affiliated with WOU in any way, shape, or form, nor is it hosted on any of their servers. (I have to say this because WOU is a state-supported school and the folks at the Capitol have some nitpicky rules we have to follow if we're to continue receiving the *cough* inadequate *cough* funding we get from them.)

This site is hosted with Dreamhost; they're the best webhosting company I've ever worked with.  Granted, I've only ever hosted with two others, but my experience with Dreamhost has been so good it's almost surreal. The few times there have ever been any problems, they have been very communicative and cooperative, and they keep adding to my disk space, bandwidth, etc., completely for free, without me even asking!

I'm in the middle of converting my whole site to PHP.  Please excuse the mess!

Just so we're clear on this: I support the troops, but not the politicians! (This rant was written before the war actually started, so it may seem a bit dated now, but I believe more than ever that this war was a stupid mistake and our people should not be dying over there.  There were better and cheaper ways to get rid of Saddam Hussein.)
