| Polonal has the calm of one who has had a long life and lived it all to the fullest. He is retired after a life in the smithcraft, and is now most often found carving wooden toys or trinkets to give away to the children of the Weyr, as well as providing a listening ear to anyone in need of one. | |
| Description: | Age: 78, Hair: grey, Eyes: blue. Polonal is getting stringy and stooped with age, but the remnants of powerful muscles can still be seen in his arms and shoulders. |
| Origin / Inspiration: | I invented Polonal as a supporting character for my Kason stories; Kason needed a father figure to help him through his difficult transitions. Polonal remained an NPC without a CIS until recently, when I decided to develop him further. Watch for him in more stories! |
| What he most wants: | To repair the estrangement between himself and his daughters (and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.) This arose from his over-strictness when raising them, and the final severing came when he left for Kadanzer Weyr after his wife's death. |
| What he most fears: | That his joint pains might render him unable to do useful work anymore. |
| If he lived on Earth: | Polonal would be a spry old-timer, the sort who gives valuable help to the maintenance staff at his retirement community. |
