Persona in brief
Kuroi: F, A=19, H=black, E=gray, HT=5'5. A born actress, this daughter of Lord Morgav of Cibola dissembles with ease. On the surface she's an impudent, impish, disrespectful, bright and friendly teenage age, with a razor-sharp wit, and a tongue to match. Quick to intrigue, and as deceptive as all hell. Selfish. The type of person who has a guileless, completely innocent demeanor, and inside is a scheming devil. Sister of W'ldo; blue firelizard Clipper, rider of green Pepth.

What's important to know about this character: This girl is a supreme manipulator, and takes pains to keep her image as a brightly, friendly, run-of-the-mill (if a little weird) teenage girl. Others will find her to be an extrovert, bubbly and full of ideas, casually friendly and possessing a quick tongue and wit. But her true weaselly nature is a secret identity, and she keeps her secrets well. Prefers to be underestimated. IMPORTANT: DO NOT claim that your character is suspicious of Kuroi's double nature (or is aware of it) without approval from me! If you want this kind of knowledge, you're going to have to earn it. ::grin::

Character inspiration/history
The first Pern club I ever created a character for was back in the early '80s, which a friend and I were recruited for a club being created by a mutual acquaintance. This was back in the pre-Internet days, and that club never happened. My buddy and I were left with a pair of characters we were very disappointed never to have gotten the chance to use... Those two personas were Luka & Kuroi.

Fast-forward to 1990, when another friend, Tia McPherson, recruited me for Southern A10P. I dusted off both characters, revised 'm, and promptly wrote half a dozen or so stories about the pair, which never saw print as Southern A10P folded as its leader disappeared off the face of the earth. So Tia and I created Kindis, in large part so we could print the stories we had written for Southern A10P. Unfortunately, politics within the core group of members recruited for Kindis soured me. I hung in as long as I could, but finally gave up, quit Kindis, and brought Luka and Kuroi on to Kaz... where they were revised quite a bit to suit.

When you visit this persona's weyr, what do you find? A mess! Clothing is piled everywhere -- how can one skinny girl have so much of it?? The walls are covered with artwork, several expensive-looking pieces of furniture (surely she ain't a weyrling?) are buried in the deluge. The wardrobe hangs open and while it's not empty, it's clearly home to some lonely hangers... (If you were ever a teenage girl yourself, or ever lived with one... perhaps you can imagine this...)

If this character were a dog, what kind of dog would he/she be? A dog? Are you bloody well out of your mind? Kuroi is most definitely a cat -- a blue-blooded Siamese cat no less, one of those blue-eyed, narrowed-skulled, cross-eyed devils.
